Data Integration & Governance Specialist – Data Modeling, API Documentation & Cloud Support
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Data Systems Analyst / Data Integration Specialist to design, support, and optimize enterprise data systems supporting banking, fraud detection, and risk management initiatives. This role involves translating complex business requirements into detailed source-to-target data mappings, managing data contracts, and supporting APIs and data flow processes. Your expertise will ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance, facilitating data-driven decision-making and operational excellence within regulatory standards.
Software Requirements
Required:
Strong experience in data modeling, source-to-target data mappings, and data contracts supporting enterprise data solutions (7+ years)
Proficiency in Swagger/OpenAPI for API documentation and testing support (latest versions)
Hands-on experience with SQL (basic to intermediate level) for data validation and analysis (7+ years)
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration for data exchange across platforms
Familiarity with data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or similar (7+ years)
Experience with XML and JSON data formats supporting enterprise data exchanges
Preferred:
Cloud platforms supporting data airflow, data migration, or API hosting (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Data governance tools supporting compliance and data contracts
Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for data presentation and validation support
Overall Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into detailed source-to-target data models and data contracts supporting data integrity and compliance
Design, implement, and support data pipelines and data integration workflows supporting analytics, fraud detection, and risk management
Maintain accurate metadata, data lineage, and documentation of data processes and contracts
Collaborate with business units, data scientists, and technical teams for end-to-end data solutions
Validate and reconcile data accuracy, consistency, and security controls supporting compliance policies
Support data migration, integration, and reporting efforts supporting enterprise regulatory requirements
Develop and optimize data workflows for performance, security, and operational efficiency
Lead efforts to improve data governance practices and automate manual review processes
Conduct root-cause analysis for data issues, errors, and anomalies, implementing fixes proactively
Technical Skills (By Category)
Languages & Data Formats (Essential):
SQL (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) supporting data validation and mapping
XML, JSON supporting enterprise data exchanges and integrations
Data Modeling & Mapping:
Source-to-target data mappings, data contract management, and data lineage tools
Tools & Platforms:
Data integration tools: Informatica, Talend, or similar (7+ years)
API documentation: Swagger/OpenAPI support for schema design and testing
Cloud & Support Services:
Cloud platforms supporting data workflows (AWS, Azure, GCP) (preferred)
Metadata management and data governance frameworks supporting compliance
Experience Requirements
7+ years supporting enterprise data architecture, data migration, data validation, and data governance projects
Proven experience designing and managing source-to-target data mappings and data contracts for compliance and operational needs
Experience supporting regulated industries such as banking, finance, or healthcare is advantageous
Strong understanding of data security and privacy standards in enterprise data environments
Day-to-Day Activities
Design and implement data models, mappings, and data contracts supporting enterprise analytics and reporting
Support data migration and validation activities supporting compliance and safety standards
Troubleshoot data discrepancies, security issues, and integration errors in production environments
Collaborate with data scientists, BI teams, and IT to refine data workflows and interfaces
Automate manual data validation, reconciliation, and metadata management tasks
Support ongoing data governance initiatives, data quality assessments, and compliance checks
Monitor data pipelines, analyze issues, and optimize for efficiency and security
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, mappings, and data flow processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years supporting enterprise data architecture, migration, and governance processes
Industry experience in banking, finance, or healthcare is preferred
Certifications in data management, enterprise data governance, or cloud platforms (preferred)
Proven track record of designing scalable, compliant, and secure enterprise data solutions
