Engineering -Associate - Software Engineering

You will be a key addition to the Technology Risk Engineering team which provides engineering solutions for the firm’s information security and cyber security program, through the development and enforcement of various controls, risks & reporting mechanisms. You will specifically work towards stabilization and observability for secure sdlc engineering solutions.

Goldman Sachs has one of the most progressive Technology Risk teams in the industry and is continuing to push the development of risk in preference to security within technology and the business. Year on year success has led the team to work deeper into the organization and gain valuable insights into how technology needs to function, what its risk really is and how this impacts the business.

HOW WILL YOU FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL?

Within TRE, you will be part of the DevOps Team that works closely with other teams of security, software, and data engineers that identify and curate technology data, provide technology solutions in the threat management space, and drive real-time response processes to meet regulatory and management requirements. You will build exciting, novel solutions and identify gaps to bridge platforms across Core Engineering and interact with areas as diverse as Networking, SDLC, and Entitlements, to name a few. Your high-level responsibilities will include

• Creating observability around application performance and benchmarking, its efficacy, and capabilities
• (metrics crunching, performance dashboards etc.)
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Analyzing and driving implementation efforts for improving the resiliency of applications
• Ensuring Applications are running in seamless 24X7 mode
• Moving applications from Legacy Infra to Cloud Based solutions with focus on SRE principles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher
• 5+ years of prior experience in a DevOps /app support role maintaining critical applications
• Ability to work independently or within a group to analyze challenges and propose solutions.
• Effective communication both verbally and in writing
• Shell Scripting skills, Experience with interpreted languages (e.g., Python), and understands compiled languages
• (e.g., Java)
• Experience with SQL and any RDBMS and/or No SQL
• Proficient in version control systems like Git, including branching, merging, and pull request workflows
• Familiarity with Git-based platforms like GitHub or GitLab

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of micro services architecture and networking.
• Knowledge of Cloud deployments and networking requirements.
• Knowledge of Prometheus/Grafana stack.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
