Summary

As an ETL Tester at Gainwell, ensures the quality and reliability of data-driven products, with a primary emphasis on ETL testing and data analytics. The role involves developing robust test strategies and plans covering functional, performance, and data integrity aspects. Responsibilities include validating data transformations and outputs for accuracy and consistency, building and maintaining test scripts for ETL processes, and analyzing test results to identify database impacts, bugs, and usability issues. The position is focused on product development and does not involve handling PHI, PII, or other confidential client data.

Your role in our mission

•    Understand and apply data analytics methodologies to support testing objectives.
•    Validate data ingestion processes and perform data-centric testing across systems.
•    Collaborate with SMEs, Business Analysts, and Data Analysts to identify key data elements and recommend improvements.
•    Manage and analyze large, complex datasets from multiple sources to identify gaps or issues in business controls.
•    Review and validate test cases, defect logs, and test execution results.
•    Partner with engineering and product teams to define test strategies and build automation frameworks.
•    Leverage Copilot skills for AI-assisted test case generation.
•    Execute smoke and regression testing to ensure system stability.
•    Work with test management and bug tracking tools like Azure DevOps (ADO), TFS, JIRA, or similar platforms.

What we're looking for

•    Develop and execute SQL scripts for database testing (12+ years of hands-on experience required).
•    Perform ETL testing and apply knowledge of data warehouse concepts (7–10 years preferred).
•    Hands-on experience with relational and OLAP databases.
•    Utilize API testing tools such as Swagger, Postman, and SoapUI.
•    Practical exposure to Python programming (especially relevant for future functional testing requirements).
•    Familiarity with Unix shell scripting.
•    Working knowledge or experience with Databricks.
•    Proficient in AWS cloud services (AWS is the primary cloud platform for this role; Microsoft Azure knowledge is a plus but not mandatory).
•    Experience in tools such as Power BI or Tableau (required only if dashboard testing is part of the scope).
•    Knowledge of AWS cloud data services (Lambda, S3, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, API Gateway) – considered a plus
