Instrumentation Technician


Job Overview

Instrumentation Technician responsible for calibration of field instruments, interlock and functionality checking, cause & effect documentation, Control panel wiring and panel drawing


Responsibilities and Duties

• Performing all necessary servicing, condition monitoring, fault analysis and restorative maintenance duties on field instrumentation and control panel.

• Inspects tests, adjusts, and repairs electric, electronic, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record, and control generating operations in site.

• Makes periodic preventative maintenance inspections of all metering control instruments, diagnosing existing or potential trouble; cleans, lubricates, calibrates and adjusts as conditions.

• Gas detection system installation configuration in the gas panel, trouble shooting and functionality checking in labs.

• RTD, thermocouple, transmitter, pressure switch, pressure gauge, MFC, PSV calibration, calibration report generation and maintenance.

• PLC, DCS panel wiring, understanding the GIA, PDB, and TLD drawing for maintenance and project activities, cable scheduling, and cable size selection based on the requirement.

• Ensure Weekly, Monthly, Semi Annual and Annual maintenance schedule is generated and associated checklists are completed and submitted

• Ensuring basic tools are available with operator when responding to complaints trouble shooting activities

• Ensuring basic and minimum quantity of spares available in stocks

• Provide site orientation and training to new staff ensuring smooth operation.


Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering essential.

• O&M and Contract Administration experience of 5 yrs. or more.

• Very Good people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client staff and demands.

• Knowledge of Occupational Health Safety and requirements.

• Strong PC literacy and proven ability to manage daily activities using various systems.

• Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives highly desirable.

• Demonstrated experience with client reporting and preparation of reports required.

• Able to communicate effectively with Admin, Facilities Team and operator for smooth day-to-day operation.

• Experience in coordinating with own service team, operator, Facilities Team and Admin for timely closure of issues.
