Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled Java Developer with strong TypeScript experience to contribute to building scalable, reliable enterprise applications. In this role, you will focus on backend development using Java, implement RESTful APIs, and support microservices architecture. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver test-driven, high-quality solutions that meet business needs and operational standards. Software Requirements

• Required: Java 8+; TypeScript; REST API development frameworks; Git version control; CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, or similar); relational databases (MS SQL or Oracle); NoSQL databases (MongoDB); message brokers (Kafka or others)

• Preferred: Frontend frameworks using TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), C# (advantage)

• Experience level: 4+ years of hands-on Java development combined with TypeScript experience

Overall Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications utilizing Java and TypeScript, focusing on scalable and secure microservices architecture

• Build, test, and consume REST APIs, ensuring they are robust and aligned with integration requirements

• Write automated unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reduce defects

• Collaborate with product teams, QA, and DevOps to implement features and support deployment pipelines

• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly across the development lifecycle

• Support system performance optimization by integrating caching, load balancing, and scalability best practices

• Maintain and update technical documentation, including design specifications and API documentation

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Programming Languages:

  • Essential: Java (version 8+), TypeScript

  • Preferred: Additional scripting (Python, Shell), C# (advantage)

• Databases/Data Management:

  • Relational: MS SQL, Oracle; NoSQL: MongoDB; experience designing and optimizing database schemas and queries

• Cloud Technologies:

  • Basic knowledge of cloud deployment (AWS, Azure) is advantageous

• Frameworks and Libraries:

  • Spring Boot, REST API frameworks, TypeScript libraries, Kafka, messaging middleware

• Development Tools & Methodologies:

  • Git, Jenkins, TeamCity, Maven, Agile/Scrum, TDD/BDD (JUnit, Cucumber, Rest Assured)

• Security Protocols:

Experience Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Java backend development, with proven expertise in building scalable microservices

• Demonstrated experience with TypeScript for frontend or backend integration development

• Hands-on experience with REST API creation, consumption, and testing

• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database management and optimization

• Industry experience: Experienced in enterprise, fintech, or technology sectors is preferred; alternative experience in large-scale projects is acceptable

Day-to-Day Activities

• Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot Java and TypeScript-based microservices and APIs

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during sprint planning, reviews, and deployment cycles

• Write automated tests, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to quality standards

• Support CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment

• Monitor system logs and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement

• Resolve technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures

• Maintain technical documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and support compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent; higher qualifications considered advantageous

• 4+ years of professional experience in backend Java development and TypeScript integration

• Strong understanding of REST API design, microservices architecture, and test automation

• Experience working within Agile teams and supporting DevOps practices

• Certifications related to Java, cloud computing, or API security are desirable
