JOB POSITION

Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking for Sr Systems Engineer I/Application Re-packager professionals who provide technical support to users.  As a Senior Application Repackaging Engineer, they should lead end-to-end application packaging, modernization, and deployment processes across our enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in MSI/MSIX packaging, App-V, application testing, and deployment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Provide technical assistance to the applications by performing the following duties:

As a Senior Application Repackaging Engineer to lead end‑to‑end application packaging, modernization, and deployment processes across our enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in MSI/MSIX packaging, App-V, application testing, and deployment automation, with strong understanding of SCCM/MECM, Intune, scripting, and software lifecycle management.
This senior role also includes mentoring team members, defining packaging standards, and driving packaging automation and quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Packaging & Repackaging

• Lead the full lifecycle of application packaging and repackaging using:
  • AdminStudio
  • Advanced Installer
  • MSI/MSIX Packaging Tool
  • InstallShield / Orca
• Create, customize, and validate MSI/MSIX/APP-V/Intunewin packages as per enterprise standards.
• Analyze vendor installers (EXE/MSI) and determine appropriate packaging approach.
• Perform silent installations, custom actions, transforms (MST), patches (MSP), and wrapper scripts.
• Resolve complex packaging issues, dependency conflicts, DLL registrations, and compatibility problems.

Deployment & Integration

• Publish and manage applications in SCCM/MECM, Intune, and Software Center.
• Validate application behavior across different OS versions (Windows 10/11).
• Coordinate with release management for production rollouts.

Automation, Scripting & Tools

• Develop advanced automation using: PowerShell, VBScript, Batch scripting

• Enhance packaging workflows using custom scripts, templates, and automation frameworks.

QUALIFICATION

• Bachelors’ or Masters’ is Computer Science/ IT or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

• Sr Systems Engineer I 5 to 8 Years in IT.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Strong knowledge of:

• MSI, MST, MSP, MSIX
• Application virtualization (APP-V)
• Intunewin packaging for Endpoint Manager
• SCCM/MECM deployment workflows

• Expertise in PowerShell scripting (advanced level).
• Deep knowledge of Windows Installer technology and troubleshooting logs.

Additional Expertise:

• Experience with Windows 10/11 application compatibility.
• Understanding of enterprise GPOs, registry modifications, and user profile impacts.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead packaging initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder coordination capabilities.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset.
