Lead - Java Developer

About the Role

Synechron is looking for a highly skilled Java Lead to guide a team of developers and drive the delivery of high‑quality, scalable, and efficient Java-based applications. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience, deep technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across teams to innovate and implement advanced technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Java developers to ensure timely and quality software delivery.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications and systems.
  • Build scalable, efficient, and secure Java solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including QA, DevOps, Architecture, and Product—to resolve technical challenges.
  • Ensure best coding practices, code reviews, and adherence to development standards.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and drive innovation through modern technologies and frameworks.

Required Skills

  • Strong expertise in Java and related technologies (Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, etc.).
  • Experience designing and developing complex Java applications.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical abilities.

Experience

  • 7 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring development teams.
  • Prior experience delivering Java-based solutions for large enterprise environments.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to Java developers.
  • Translate business requirements into complete technical designs and solutions.
  • Develop, test, and deploy robust Java applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production or development issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and enhance system capabilities.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Advanced Java certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional – Java SE 11) are an added advantage.
