Lead Software Engineer - C++ and Python

Altair Engineering is now seeking to hire a self-motivated Software Developer who has some computer aided engineering background and object-orientated design for the Inspire team. The developer will be responsible for both developing new features and sustaining existing features in the Inspire product.   

What You Will Do:

• Ability to contribute in all phases of product cycle from requirement analysis, high and low level design and implementation, testing, bug fixing, and documentation using primarily C/C++ language
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on assigned tasks.
• Ability to work on various platforms and with various developer tools as supported by the product.
• Work within team structure to complete implementation of assigned features and bug fixes in required timeline
• Provide feature unit tests and participate in group code review process as necessary.
• Ability to work on GUI and graphics  

What You Will Need:

Basics:

• 3-7 year of commercial software product development experience using C/C++
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis is preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering/Comp Science or related field. Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering will have more preference.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Strong object oriented design and programming skills.
• Good to have exposure to Scripting (Python is preferred)
