Job Summary

The Adobe Learning Manager group seeks a driven Lead Software Quality Engineer who excels in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment and is committed to quality. This role involves full responsibility for the QE delivery of the product area, including API, Web, Security, Automation, and AI-driven features, from initial concept through production support. The perfect candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and experience in building and managing test automation frameworks, performance testing plans, and thorough QA procedures in complex settings.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

• Demonstrate ownership within the team by driving quality outcomes for assigned areas, bringing to bear AI-assisted tools (e.g., for test design, analysis,, productivity and automation) to improve efficiency and quality of releases.
  
• Mentor and support peers within the team by sharing standard processes and contributing practical solutions that improve testing, automation, and execution consistency.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to identify risks, propose data-driven and AI-enabled quality solutions, and align on achievable quality goals.

Quality Strategy and Implementation:

• Oversee QE delivery across all SDLC phases, including requirements analysis, test planning, estimation, execution, automation, production release, and root cause analysis for production issues.
• Define and track quality metrics such as defect rates, test coverage, and automation stability. Highligh risk at early stage for resolutions.
• Promote guidelines in quality assurance tailored to DevOps environments.

Automation and Tooling:

• Make meaningful contributions to current automation frameworks for API, web, and mobile by incorporating dependable, maintainable test coverage for assigned features.
• Identify automation gaps within owned areas and propose improvements or enhancements under guidance.
• Develop and maintain high-quality automation scripts aligned with team standards, ensuring stability and ease of maintenance.

Performance:

• Lead performance testing efforts, including load, stress, and scalability testing, ensuring systems are robust and reliable.
• Develop and complete performance testing strategies for APIs, web, and mobile applications.

Test Planning and Execution:

• Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scenarios based on business requirements and technical specifications.
• Ensure complete test coverage, including edge cases, user-centric workflows, and negative paths.
• Lead functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing across multi-tier, cloud-based solutions.

Collaborator Engagement and Communication:

• Engage with customers, support teams, development teams, and product managers to understand user stories and deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Regularly communicate quality updates, risks, and recommendations to collaborators.
• Contribute thought leadership through presentations and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Proficiency in code coverage tools and analysis for multi-tier cloud-hosted solutions.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium, Appium, TestNG, or any other web UI automation tools.
• Expertise in API testing using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AI-enabled tools to boost efficiency and quality of releases.
• Experience with performance testing tools like SOASTA or JMeter.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• In-depth understanding of cloud-based testing environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

QE Domain Expertise:

• Skilled in Agile and DevOps methods.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and defect management processes.
• Experience testing web applications, cloud solutions, and multi-tier complex architectures.
• Expertise in database testing and proficiency in SQL for data validation and test automation.
• Experience in testing scalable big data solutions involving complex querying and reporting.
• Familiarity with GenAI/Deep Learning implementations and their testing requirements.

Soft Skills:

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
• QA certifications or certifications in specialized quality engineering areas such as automation, performance, and security.
• Domain knowledge in e-Learning or Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.
