Manager - GMS Global Mobility
The GMS team Manager will work under the guidance of GMS Leadership and work with Lead Member Firm Partners who oversee the engagements and must remain updated on basic technical developments in areas like taxation, social security, and more. A large part of this role is to support global client engagements as part of the GEMS network and ensure ongoing client satisfaction through seamless global coordination.
A secondary, but equally important, aspect to the role is focusing on the continuous development of our global processes and technology to support the consistency of high levels of service delivery across our client engagements globally.
This is an exciting opportunity with scope for progression for the right individual. The successful candidate should have a understanding of tax matters, strong communication skills, credibility, and the ability to drive success within the KPMG network.
How you will make your mark
• Acts as an ambassador for KPMG more broadly and can effectively and persuasively articulate the KPMG distinctions in formal and informal settings · Exhibits professionalism, poise, maturity and overall confidence to deal with tough client situations
• Ensures on-going satisfaction of clients by providing a seamless global coordination experience
• Cultivate close professional relationships with local KPMG country teams and recognize the value of a strong network of colleagues to accomplish often complex or sensitive tasks
• Responsible for team performance management
• Proven networking skills within and outside the firm or firm equivalent
• Looks for opportunities to serve our clients in a holistic, pragmatic fashion
• Establishes creditability with key stakeholders immediately; postures him/herself as the face of the firm
Learning:
• Identifies and trains his/her successor
• First class trainer: can encapsulate complex topics in an easily understood fashion and communicates instinctively at the right depth and frequency
Co-ordination:
• Assist with building the coordination and billing capabilities of the GMS team, supporting global client engagements, providing seamless coordination experiences, and offering effective solutions to clients' tax and non-tax mobility issues.
• Keeps the GMS team leadership informed; makes good evaluations of the current situation and remains cool in high pressure situations
• Communicates clearly, professionally, and regularly with the client and the KPMG global tax team
• Integrates into client teams effectively and meets the clients' expectations for work production, work environment/hours, and quality-of-output · Identify solutions to client tax and non-tax mobility issues.
• Sees the bigger picture of an event or series of events and can take the initiatives
• Exhibits professional skepticism and regularly seeks to know, understand (and potentially exploit) the root cause of current developments
Transformation:
• Employs KPMG LINK technology and act as a super-user/ambassador for KPMG LINK technology
• Proves himself/herself to be a master the KPMG LINK technology tools and be a resource for client teams using the tool; respond to client queries locally and prevent escalation wherever possible

• Solid experience at manager level or equivalent in a similar Global Mobility Services role
• Sophisticated business sense and identifies effective solutions for the inefficiencies evident in client activities
• Ability to identify broad-based tax matters, both individual and corporate
• Diplomatic: able to convey tough, complex or subtle messages with tact
• Up to date knowledge on technical developments / thought leadership
• Complete understanding of GMS processes – Initiations, Compliance management , Billing etc
• Experience of working with senior stakeholders
• Self-starter that is able to collaborate and execute on priority goals and vision
• Strong quantitative abilities
• High level written and spoken English
• Able to solve complex problems
• Excellent communication skills with ability to build new relationships and leverage existing relationships within KPMG
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in supporting a global team in a virtual environment
• People Management experience
