Job Description

As a leader within the HPE Operations Managed Services organization, you will lead a high-performing team of Transition Project Managers. You are responsible for the strategic oversight of the entire transition and onboarding portfolio, ensuring that all managed services deals are integrated seamlessly into the delivery organization while meeting global business objectives.

What you’ll do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Portfolio Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end governance of the onboarding deal portfolio, ensuring all programs align with HPE’s corporate strategy and financial targets.
  • Organizational Scaling: Identify and implement improvements in transition processes and workflows to drive operational efficiencies across the entire department.
  • Executive Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary escalation point and strategic partner for MS leadership and executives regarding the health and risk profile of the transition portfolio.
  • Financial & Resource Governance: Manage departmental budgeting and resource forecasting (1–2 quarters ahead) to ensure the team is staffed to meet pipeline demands.
  • People Development: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Program Managers; drive performance management, career development, and a culture of continuous innovation.
  • Process Optimization: Implement feedback loops from completed transitions to refine global methodologies, tools (like Smartsheet), and delivery approaches.
  • Risk & Interdependency Management: Proactively identify cross-portfolio risks and interdependencies, ensuring mitigation plans are in place to prevent delivery delays.
    What you need to bring:

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience in IT Program Management, with at least 5+ years in a people leadership role overseeing complex, transformative programs.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; MBA or advanced leadership certification is highly preferred.
  • Certification: Advanced certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or PgMP (Program Management Professional).
  • Global Acumen: Proven ability to manage diverse, global teams and work across various time zones and cultures.
  • Strategic Travel: Ability to travel to client locations and global HPE hubs as required for high-stakes deal negotiations or site leadership.

  • Business Acumen: Strong ability to break down complex business challenges into scalable solutions with a clear path forward.
  • Influencing & Advocacy: Excellent ability to influence at the executive level and advocate for the transition team’s needs to achieve optimal business outcomes.

  • Collaborative Drive: Recognized as a trusted advisor who leverages strengths across multiple teams to expedite results.
  • Accountability: A track record of owning results with a sense of urgency and ensuring the team performs within the established productivity measures (scorecards)
