What’s the role?
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be the specialist for end‑to‑end payroll activities, which includes processing India payroll (salary and statutory payments), overseeing payroll administration activities against statutory directives and company policies, and performing financial controls. You will be part of the India Payroll team reporting to the India Payroll Manager, working with various stakeholders to support India payroll process excellence and operationalize new global payroll solutions.What you’ll be doing
- Process India payroll (salary and statutory payments) and oversee payroll administration activities in accordance with legislation, statutory directives, and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with legal/regulatory requirements, ICFR controls, posting to finance processes, and execution of statutory and third‑party payments.
- Collaborate with counterparts across lines of business and key stakeholders (Country Payroll Team, SBO Payroll Specialists, HROps, FO‑Payroll Accounting Manila, IT, Employment Tax, employees, line managers, and external partners such as Vialto) to identify and implement process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement in payroll service delivery, E2E payroll process design, and associated controls.
- Work closely with transformation change agents and projects to support technology change implementations, including design, testing, and cutover (Workday, APRo, Global Payroll Strategy).
- Use data mining techniques to provide actionable insights in support of business needs.
- Lead and coordinate the review and resolution of payroll general ledger out‑of‑balances and ensure outstanding items are addressed.
- Work with IT Support to identify and test SAP country configuration changes and break‑fix updates.
- Serve as focal point for complex problem solving related to policy review, legislative changes, and E2E system assessment.
- Collaborate with GPS implementation teams, vendors, and cross‑functional stakeholders on testing, validation, and issue resolution to enable high‑quality GPS deployment.
- Handle employee queries through Salesforce, ensuring timely resolution aligned with SLAs.
What you bring
- Preferably more than 5 years of payroll functional experience with India SAP Payroll, Workday HR, and MS Office applications.
- Experience in HR, Compensation, Systems, and Finance with knowledge of Payroll, Expatriate Payroll/Tax, employment legislation, e‑TDS filing, Form 16 preparation, Superannuation, labor standards, and HR policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical problem‑solving skills; ability to lead initiatives, work independently, and operate effectively as a team player.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines with significant output requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect employee data in line with data privacy legislation.
- Experience conducting self‑audits, with a focus on risk identification, control effectiveness, and compliance with directives and regulations.
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills for working with multiple levels of management.
- Energy, enthusiasm, a solution‑minded and can‑do attitude.
- Sound judgment to identify and resolve challenges and issues.
