PCB Layout & DFM Manager

Do you want to build hardware for key driving components of Electric Vehicle? You will be part of Ford Global Advance product development team working with a design team to implement circuits, analyze, and resolve PCB design & manufacturing issues. You will manage meeting Ford’s quality, on time delivery and working closely with DFx teams. 

  • Develop PCB to meet:

    • electrical requirements based on cross function/product owner needs.

    • High Voltage, High Power circuit designs to meet Vehicle performance and efficiency, using Industry standard schematics and Layout tools.

    • High speed digital circuit designs for smart mobility. 

  • Collaborate with vendors for part creation and library management.

  • Perform Signal integrity and power integrity analyses.

  • Perform PCB DFx analyses based on fabrication house capabilities. 

  • Work with PCBA mfg. partners to resolve technical queries, mfg. concerns and update designs as needed.

  • Implement Ford-specific and industry-relevant standards in design rules.

  • Develop and release production intent PCB fabrication documentation and manage revision controls.

  • Bachelor’s, Electronics, Electrical or Equivalent engineering domain, such as master’s in physics10+ Years of relevant experience in PCB design in preferably from automotive domain

  • Strong experience in electronics component footprint and library management to improve manufacturability.

  • Experience in High-speed Microprocessor or High Voltage High Power based PCB layout design (preferably exposed to both)

  • Practical skills in field theory, EMI/EMC based layout decisions, thermal management, working with mechanical engineering for space claim, keep out areas, cable management, connector orientation, and PCBA hardware (press fit, shielding, SMT/SMD, THT, soldered and screwed busbar etc.) are essential.

  • Demonstratable experience in launching multiple PCBA designs from concept to mass production.

  • Experience in working with HW engineering team, mfg. quality, and supplier mfg. engineering to resolve issues.

  • Ability to review physical samples and find mfg. quality concerns. 

  • Experience with Altium
