Job Title: Platform Engineer – EventHub
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore

Business & Team: CTO - Cloud Integration

Impact & Contribution: The cloud movement at CommBank is going strong and continues to grow. We are looking for out-of-the-box thinkers who want to use technology to work on real-world problems that have the potential to change the lives of our 17 million+ customers. The successful applicant will join a team tasked to manage the Event Streaming Platform for the bank, both on-prem and in the cloud. You will be expected to continually improve the services through a DevOps model, build the cluster, and ensure the platform is running 24/7.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the platform is running 24/7 and respond to incidents as needed.
  • Design and build all aspects of an enterprise platform, including tooling, CI/CD, security, and observability.
  • Coach other engineers to uplift the engineering quality and velocity.
  • Share engineering knowledge through presentations, blogs, and videos with the broader engineering community.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and team to create relevant engineering roadmaps.

Essential Skills: 

  • Highly proficient with Kafka (Even Streaming), AWS, Python.
  • Very good understanding of Docker container and Kubernetes technology.
  • Highly proficient with versioning systems and CI/CD tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Artifactory.
  • API development and integrations.
  • Very good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • A growth mindset and the ability to drive continuous improvements.
  • Technical hands-on experience in AWS.
  • Highly proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform, and Ansible.

Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
