Playwright + API Automation Engineer (Java and Selenium)

Job Summary
At Synechron, the Playwright + API Automation Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This position focuses on designing, developing, and executing automation scripts using Playwright and conducting API and database testing. By collaborating closely with development and QA teams, this role contributes to enhancing software reliability and performance, aligning with Synechron’s commitment to excellence in digital solutions.

Software Requirements

  • Required:

    • Proficiency in Selenium, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, and JIRA.
    • Experience with API testing and database testing.
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum.
  • Preferred:

    • Experience with Playwright for automation testing.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Playwright and other tools.
  • Perform functional and regression testing to ensure software quality.
  • Identify, track, and manage software defects throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Participate in agile sprint planning and retrospectives to contribute to continuous improvement.

Technical Skills (By Category)

  • Programming Languages:

    • Essential: Java for automation scripting.
  • Frameworks and Libraries:

    • Essential: Selenium for UI automation and TestNG for test management.
    • Preferred: Playwright for advanced automation testing.
  • Development Tools and Methodologies:

Experience Requirements

  • Write, maintain, and execute automated test cases, focusing on UI and API functionalities.
  • Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts to ensure their effectiveness and reliability.
  • Review test cases, providing feedback to improve overall testing strategies.
  • Engage in regular meetings with cross-functional teams to align testing efforts with project objectives.
  • Deliver detailed reports on testing outcomes, highlighting areas for improvement and ensuring defect resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in QA methodologies and automation tools are advantageous.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in testing technologies.
