Role details:

The Kafka Product Owner (PO) in a Cloud Integration Crew is a hands-on technical leader who actively designs, builds, reviews, and operates Kafka platform capabilities, in addition to owning the product vision and backlog.

Skills and experience: 

15+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Platform Engineering, including 5+ years leading Kafka product strategy, roadmap definition, and enterprise-scale adoption.

· Deep understanding of Apache Kafka concepts · Strong grasp of event-driven and asynchronous integration patterns

· Ability to design, build, and review Kafka platform components like Schema Registry, Dynamic Quota Provisioning, Authentication and Authorization using mTLS or IAM.

· Strong code and PR review skills · Strong product mindset applied to platforms, not apps

· Agile delivery experience in platform teams · Understanding of multi-cluster and environment isolation strategies

· Demonstrates a solid, practical understanding of DevSecOps, SDLC, observability, resiliency, AI with hands-on experience embedding these principles into Kafka platform design, automation pipelines, operational practices, and governance guardrails to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable event streaming.

Driving Product Roadmaps · Business Stakeholder Engagement & Feedback Loops · Backlog ownership with technical depth · Translating Business Needs into Platform Capabilities and defining acceptance criteria for the same. · Managing dependencies and technical risks · Adhering to Security and Risk Compliance from Kafka Platform Perspective.
