Quality System Functional Product Leader

Who will you be working with?

Quality System Functional Product Leader is responsible for collecting the quality system applications requirements across all Wabtec businesses and provide them to the software development team.  Additional responsibilities include supporting various engineering continuous improvement projects.  

How will you make a difference? 
In this role, you will work very closely with the Quality System Functional Product Owner, IT Product Manager, Functional Users, and IT Development teams.  You will be required to review the existing quality applications, develop application requirements, collaborate with the development team, and implement new applications.  

What do we want to know about you? 

• 7+ years experience in Electrical / Electronics / Automation / Mechatronic / Mechanical

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Automation / Mechatronic / Mechanical)

• Excellent communicator with users, development team, and leadership.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Reliance and its modules used across Wabtec

Desired Characteristics:

• WIM, Salesforce, PLM, Oracle, or PowerBi experience 

• Program management experience

• Program management tool suite experience 

• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle 

• Able to work under minimal supervision

• Effective problem identification and solution skills

• Ability to coordinate several projects and responsibilities simultaneously

• Excellent project / initiative management skills

• Strong data analytics and presentation skills

What will your typical day look like? 

• Analyze existing quality processes to ensure an understanding of the process intent and existing requirements

• Engage with process owners to solicit feedback and translate it into clear requirements 

• Identify and develop process improvements to enhance business value 

• Streamline processes to increase usability and eliminate process waste

• Manage the transition of several processes concurrently

• Develop and conduct process training to clearly communicate the process flow and its requirements

• Conduct validation testing to verify functionality and that all requirements are met.

• Coordinate and support the release of new/updated processes

• Engage frequently with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, requirement acceptance and refinement, testing and validation

• Clearly and effectively provide status updates to the development, functional, and leadership teams

• Investigate and conduct root cause analysis on engineering quality issues.

• Develop and lead projects to prevent engineering issues.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
