Reference Data Specialist

As a Transaction Processing Specialist within Wholesale Payments Operations, you ensure on‑time, end‑to‑end transaction management, resolve exceptions and client inquiries, and serve as a subject matter expert to clients. You manage daily operational tasks independently, support regulatory reporting and remediation activities, and uphold a strong control mindset. You also lead process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency, quality, and client experience.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Execute assigned operational tasks on time with complete, accurate processing.
  • Resolve exceptions and client inquiries; provide subject matter expertise.
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to reduce risk and effort.
  • Operate with a control mindset; identify issues and risks and drive remediation.
  • Manage assigned work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Support daily regulatory reporting tasks and remediation activities.
  • Collaborate across Wholesale Payments Operations to ensure consistent service.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities 

  • Ability to interpret legal language in documents and assess impacts to the firm.
  • Strong analytical skills; excellent oral/written communication; attention to detail with high accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); ownership and responsibility to manage tasks independently.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work during US hours; consistent control mindset.

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities 

  • Experience in middle or back‑office operations within financial services.
  • Understanding of industry products, processes, and operational workflows.
  • Excellent client focus and customer care working practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated collaboration on process and automation initiatives.
