Job Description
A restaurant cashier's responsibilities include:
- Cash transactions
- Processing credit card payments, accepting cash, making change, and using a point of sale (POS) system
- Customer service
- Greeting customers, answering questions, and providing a positive customer experience
- Orders
- Taking orders, putting takeout orders in containers, and booking reservations
- Discounts
- Processing discounts and coupons
- Other tasks (updating excel sheets)
- Resolving customer complaints, gift-wrapping packages, and following health and safety regulations
