SAP S/4HANA Transformation – Plant Maintenance (PM) Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Plant Maintenance (PM) Lead to lead maintenance and asset management workstreams in large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation projects. The role is responsible for end-to-end ownership of maintenance planning, execution, and cost control processes, ensuring alignment with SAP S/4HANA best practices and enterprise asset management strategies.

The PM Lead will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and cross-functional SAP teams to drive a successful transition from ECC to S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

S/4HANA PM Workstream Leadership

• Lead SAP PM workstreams in S/4HANA transformation programs (Greenfield, Brownfield, or Selective Data Transition).
• Own end-to-end Asset-to-Maintenance and Maintenance-to-Cost processes.
• Act as the primary escalation point for PM-related topics.

Solution Design & Delivery

• Drive solution design and hands-on configuration for SAP S/4HANA PM, including:
• Technical Objects (Equipment, Functional Locations)
• Maintenance Notifications and Orders
• Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
• Refurbishment, Breakdown, and Calibration processes
• Ensure adoption of S/4HANA PM simplifications, Fiori apps, and embedded analytics.

S/4HANA Transformation Activities

• Lead Fit-to-Standard (F2S) workshops and maintenance process harmonization.
• Assess and manage custom code (RICEFW) impacts for PM in S/4HANA.
• Guide technical object and maintenance data conversion.

Integration & Cross-Module Coordination

• Coordinate closely with MM, WM/EWM, PP, QM, FI/CO, and HR teams.
• Ensure seamless integration across Maintenance, Procurement, Production, and Finance.
• Collaborate with technical teams (ABAP, CPI, mobility) for enhancements and integrations.

Testing, Cutover & Go-Live

• Lead unit testing, SIT, UAT, and defect management for PM.
• Own cutover planning for open maintenance orders, plans, and histories.
• Provide go-live and hypercare support, ensuring maintenance continuity.

Governance & Team Leadership

• Ensure adherence to SAP Activate methodology, project standards, and documentation.
• Review and approve functional designs, configurations, and test artifacts.
• Mentor PM consultants and support knowledge transfer.

Required Skills & Experience

SAP PM Expertise

• 10–12+ years of SAP experience with strong hands-on expertise in:
• SAP Plant Maintenance (PM)
• Enterprise Asset Management processes
• At least 2–3 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA transformation projects in a PM Lead role.
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning, execution, and costing.

S/4HANA & Asset Management Knowledge

• Experience with:
• S/4HANA PM simplifications and Fiori apps
• Integration of PM with MM, PP, and FI/CO
• Equipment and Functional Location data models
• Exposure to SAP Asset Management, Predictive Maintenance, or IoT is a plus.
• Knowledge on LeanIX, Signavio for process flow preparation and discussion with business team, is an added advantage.

Leadership & Delivery Skills

• Proven experience leading PM delivery in large SAP programs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in global onshore–offshore and asset-intensive environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA certification in PM or Asset Management
• Experience with SAP Activate methodology
• Industry experience in Utilities, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Mining, or Energy
• Exposure to FSM, EAM, or GIS integrations is an advantage
