About the Role
The Standards & Innovation team sits at the intersection of design, strategy, and operations. We define architectural standards, prototype new workplace concepts, and evolve WeWork’s global design language to ensure consistency, flexibility, and innovation across our portfolio.
WeWork is seeking an Senior Associate, Architecture to support the development, documentation, and evolution of architectural standards and design innovations
across our global portfolio. This role is ideal for an early-career architect with strong design fundamentals, a systems-oriented mindset, and an interest in workplace strategy and scalable design solutions. You will collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, workplace strategists, engineers, and operations teams to help translate design vision into repeatable, high-quality built environments.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design Standards & Documentation:
- Support the development and maintenance of global architectural standards, guidelines, and toolkits
- Assist in producing drawings, details, diagrams, and templates for standardized design elements
- Help ensure design consistency, quality, and constructability across projects
- Support the development, documentation, implementation, and ongoing evolution of WeWork architectural standards, including tracking updates and conducting quarterly audits of BOQs and Revit templates.
- Perform periodic site visits and conduct building audits in collaboration with the Projects team to ensure execution aligns with Standards & Innovation (S&I) guidelines; document, track, and close gaps identified during audits.
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to assess feasibility, quality control, and consistency of architectural building components, wayfinding systems, and creative elements.
- Lead and support training initiatives for internal teams through clear, creative design presentations to keep the Supply and Projects teams aligned with WeWork India design standards; contribute to company-wide knowledge-sharing sessions as needed.
- Stay current with emerging workplace design trends, competitor benchmarks, and best practices, and proactively recommend updates or
enhancements to existing WeWork standards.
Innovation & Concept Development:
- Contribute to research and prototyping of new workplace concepts, spatial typologies, and amenity strategies
- Assist in testing and refining pilot projects and innovation initiatives
- Support material, furniture, and system evaluations with a focus on scalability and performance
- Actively explore and leverage AI-driven tools and methodologies to enhance decision-making, uncover overlooked insights, and add new dimensions to design, standards, and process innovation initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with internal teams including Design, Construction, Real Estate, and Operations
- Assist in reviewing project submissions for alignment with standards and design intent
- Help translate feedback from built projects into iterative improvements
- Work closely with the Design Studio to identify design, documentation, or execution challenges early; collaborate with the VDC (Virtual Design &
Construction) team to develop automations, tools, and improved workflows that drive efficiency and accuracy. - Analyze data extracted from BI tools and design-related software platforms to inform design decisions and continuously refine standards based on performance insights and feedback loops.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct precedent research, code analysis, and benchmarking on workplace trends and best practices
- Support sustainability, accessibility, and wellness initiatives within architectural standards
Education and Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
- 2–3 years of professional experience (internships included) in architecture or workplace design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit strongly preferred
- Strong graphic communication and documentation skills
- Solid understanding of architectural detailing, building systems, and interiorconstruction
- Experience working on commercial interiors or workplace projects
- Familiarity with design standardization or large-scale portfolios
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Interest in workplace strategy, innovation, and design systems
