ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Data Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work with Wind River’s Engineering and Product Management teams on a broad range of products, and initiatives that will directly impact our company’s velocity, agility, and market penetration. This role plays a pivotal role in using data to drive insights into Wind Rivers development processes and identifying key areas for improvement..
Who You Will Work With
- The successful candidate will work with Engineering Program Managers and key development resources. This includes supporting existing in-flight programs and driving new initiatives.
- This position will report to the Director of Engineering Program Management.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of Wind Rivers development process, tools and available data sources, interfaces and APIs.
- Create management dashboards by analyzing data and deliver business insights for cross-functional team leaders.
- Derive actionable insights from complex data and present findings to stakeholders
- Create tools, processes, mechanisms, and automation that reduce the burden on our data stack as well as meeting requirements from stakeholders.

Qualifications
Technical Skills
- #EXP[7-12] Years
- Strong proficiency in Tableau for building interactive dashboards, drill‑downs, KPI views, and automated reporting.
- Experience with other BI/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, QuickSight) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience extracting and transforming data from GitLab (pipelines, commits, merge requests, issues) and Jira (sprints, epics, story status, velocity).
- Solid understanding of SQL (required) for data modeling, transformations, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation, automation, and integration tasks.
- Ability to design and maintain data models, including star/snowflake schemas used for KPI reporting.
- Experience working with APIs (especially GitLab & Jira REST APIs) and handling JSON data structures.
- Comfortable working with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) if applicable.
Software Development Metrics Knowledge
- Strong understanding of SDLC processes and common engineering KPIs:
- Velocity, throughput, cycle time, lead time
- Deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR
- Bug backlog, defect density, escaped defects
- Sprint predictability, commitment vs. completion
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows and how to interpret Agile metrics.
- Ability to translate engineering workflows into quantitative dashboards that provide actionable insights.
Business & Communication Skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams.
- Skilled at gathering requirements, translating them into dashboard specifications, and iterating based on feedback.
- Ability to present data clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting Engineering, DevOps, or Product organizations.
- Prior work building dashboards for CI/CD, Agile performance, or engineering productivity.
- Exposure to Tableau Server/Cloud administration (permissions, data sources, scheduling) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Git workflows and modern DevOps tooling.
