Job Title: Senior Executive - Exports Logistics
Job Summary:
The Senior Executive - Export [Logistics Planner] is responsible for planning and executing end-to-end export logistics operations for alcoholic beverages. The role ensures seamless coordination across manufacturing units, transporters, freight forwarders, and Customs House Agents (CHA) while maintaining strict adherence to excise and statutory regulations. The position focuses on timely gate-in, cost optimization, vendor management and productivity improvements aligned with production and shipment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Export Logistics & Execution
- Manage end-to-end export logistics including factory dispatch, port movement and shipment handover.
- Ensure timely vehicle placement in line with production and shipment schedules.
- Monitor gate-in timelines at ports/ICDs to adhere vessel cut-offs and avoid detention costs.
- Coordinate production plans in alignment with vessel availability and export demand.
Documentation & Customs Coordination
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of export documentation including invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, and excise documents.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters and CHAs to ensure smooth customs clearance and shipment execution.
- Ensure compliance with self-sealing certification requirements and related documentation.
- Ensure proper tracking of procurement of material under Advance authorization.
Stakeholder & Multi-Unit Coordination
- Act as a single point of contact between multiple manufacturing units, export sales, production and external logistics partners.
- Align dispatch plans across units to optimize load consolidation and shipment efficiency.
- Ensure proactive communication to mitigate operational delays.
Vendor & Cost Management
- Manage transporter, CHA and freight forwarder performance against service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure timely vendor invoice verification, processing and payment coordination with finance teams.
- Drive productivity improvements and logistics cost savings through route optimization, rate negotiations and process improvements.
Planning & Vehicle Management
- Prepare and execute advance transport plans and share vehicle placement forecasts with transporters.
- Ensure availability of vehicles to support production schedules and avoid dispatch bottlenecks.
- Monitor turnaround time (TAT) for vehicles and optimize utilization.
Statutory & Excise Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Excise regulations and export statutory requirements at plant and shipment levels.
- Coordinate with excise authorities for approvals, documentation and inspections as required.
- Maintain audit-ready records for regulatory and internal compliance reviews.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Track key logistics KPIs such as on-time dispatch, gate-in adherence, cost per case and vendor performance.
- Identify process gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Support audits, internal reviews and management reporting.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of export logistics, documentation and excise compliance in Alco-Bev industry
- Hands-on experience with freight forwarders, transporters and CHAs
- Expertise in production-linked dispatch planning and vehicle management
- Cost optimization, negotiation and vendor management skills
- High attention to detail, problem-solving ability and operational ownership
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management capabilities
Experience & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in export logistics within Alco-Bev, FMCG or regulated manufacturing industries
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade or related field
- Experience in excise-controlled manufacturing environments preferred
