Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Storage Automation

About this role:

This position is for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer within the File and Object Storage Engineering & Provisioning team.  This team provides File and Object Storage solutions to meet our business partner’s needs and growing demand of this platform.

In this role you will:

• Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
• Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
• Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
• Drive solutions to reduce recovery
• Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations
• Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
• Design complex system upgrades
• Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
• Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
• Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• 3+ years of file and/or object storage engineering experience
• Experience in a NAS, SAN and/or backup environment
• Experience with object storage software and systems such as Hitachi, NetApp.
• Experience with file storage software and systems such as NetApp, Oracle. This position will work with a variety of technologies so experience in one or more of these areas is preferred:
• Storage:  NetApp, Hitachi, Oracle
• Operating Systems:  Windows, VMWare, Linux
• Databases:  SQL, Oracle
• Network:  Cisco, Firewalls
• Languages:  Python, Ansible

• Advanced scripting skills specifically around automation
• Expert knowledge and understanding of technologies related to infrastructure engineering
• Ability to help remediate tough technical support issues
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of team on multiple overlapping projects
