Senior Software Engineer, Android, Platform and Devices

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with Android application development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools or debugging.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain efficient and reliable storage solutions for Android, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate storage APIs that enable developers to create powerful and performant applications.
• Optimize storage functionality to minimize resource consumption, improve system performance, and reduce battery usage.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of system-level framework components related to storage, such as file management, data persistence, and caching mechanisms.
• Participate in the entire life-cycle of Android storage features, from ideation and design to implementation, testing and deployment.
