As a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead for the Studio Messaging team, you will serve as a key architect for the communication system supporting the creator ecosystem. YouTube Studio acts as a mission-critical platform where millions of creators transform their concepts into global businesses, communities, and cultural movements.
You will be architecting the "gateway" that links over 50 YouTube feature teams spanning areas like Community, Shopping, and Monetization to hundreds of millions of creators. You are tasked with driving the modernization of our technology stack and leading the profound integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) into native runtimes, ultimately shaping the future of creator-technology interactions. By managing the technical complexities of a low latency system, you will ensure consistency in the experience of millions of Creators across every surface.

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.
  
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
