Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.

Preferred qualifications:

• 10 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and tech leads.
• Experience working in a product environment.
• Passion for using AI coding tools/agents to improve developer productivity.

You will provide comprehensive technical direction to software engineers, focusing on high-quality delivery, architectural integrity, and solving challenges while integrating.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable and flexible infrastructure to power personalization and compel user experiences that drive core business metrics.
• Lead the architectural evolution of Google One, balance high-impact iteration with long-term stability and cost-efficiency, define the strategy and roadmap for client solutions across the team.
• Drive Google One growth by architecting a platform that enables high-velocity experimentation, reducing the time to test new SKUs, pricing, and entitlements from weeks to days.
• Collaborate and mentor existing engineers in the organization to manage problems.
• Align first-party and third-party teams to ensure technical work supports the organization's priorities.
