Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer at FCC, you will be part of a common horizontal SRE team ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of our infrastructure across multiple product lines, spread across different cloud providers across the world. Your work will involve embracing an array of technologies while demonstrating adaptability and a strong commitment to continual learning.

Responsibilities

• Drive automation efforts to reduce manual efforts and increase efficiency across all environments.
• Willing to own infrastructure for multiple products across different tech stacks, learning things along and not be typecasted to few known technologies
• Maintain and improve our service reliability, availability, and performance by utilizing a pro-active approach to detect problems before they escalate.
• Participate in the design and implementation of infrastructure, applications, and tools required for hybrid cloud computing.
• Engage in debugging, system performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Participate in incident management, diagnosis, mitigation and RCA.
• Work across multiple tech stacks across product lines, demonstrating an ability to adapt and learn quickly.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure deployment is optimized for reliability.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and methodologies, and implement learnings when appropriate.
• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in a similar role in a software development setting.
  • SRE-2, 2-6 years experience
• Strong knowledge of and experience with multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and private cloud infrastructures.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell, Ruby, etc.) and general understanding of popular software development languages such as Java, javascript etc. 
• Understanding of network protocols, database management, and operating system administration.
• Familiarity with containers and orchestration services, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Expertise in using monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK Stack, New Relic, and Prometheus. Good understanding of logging best practices, with familiarity in using log aggregation tools
• Hands-on experience administrating relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) , messaging queues (Kafka), and NoSQL databases (Redis, Elasticsearch).
• Experience working with one or more configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt, Chef, or Puppet.
• Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a production environment
• Be Innovative, experiment on cutting edge technologies and seek to incorporate for higher ROI
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
