Software Engineering Manager, Google SQL

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with people management, software engineering, database languages, and data processing.
• Experience with C++, SQL, databases, Google Infrastructure, and Large Language Models.
• Knowledge of data management and processing technologies, including SQL, query engines, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers focused on building and enhancing Google SQL Ecosystem, tooling, and overseeing its adoption in software solutions like database and data solutions.
• Enhance the data engineering experience impacting how data is analyzed and processed at scale.
• Apply AI/ML advancements to innovate within the data language ecosystem and the SQL domain.
• Work with core Google systems like BigQuery and Spanner.
• Innovate, evolve, and lead the development of solutions.
