Software Engineering Manager, Processing and Serving, Google Photos

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead Photos Processing and Serving team in Bangalore. Lead the hiring, growth, and training of a team of Software Engineers in our Bangalore office.
• Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with Photos’ product and feature development teams, along with Google’s broader Core organization.
• Identify key trends across Photos feature teams, and influence how we solve some of our most important problems.
• Improve reliability and performance in the processing infrastructure, build automation platforms to accelerate prototyping, experimentation and feature development, and accelerate the ML deployment cycle.
