Sr. Engineering Manager- Client Platform

The Opportunity

The Postman Client Platform team is looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Build and Release team. Build and Release is responsible for CI/CD pipelines, automation, and backend services to manage the deployment and release of Postman’s web and desktop applications. You’ll partner closely with senior engineering leadership to quickly drive initiatives to strengthen and scale our build and release operations. 

About the Team

The Client Platform team is a global engineering organization responsible for creating a “paved path” for all Postmanauts to develop and release web-based applications. Our platform is the foundation that hundreds of Postman engineers rely on daily to deliver new features and improvements to over 30 million customers. We manage everything from build tooling and shared libraries to development infrastructure, best practices and our cross-platform desktop application. 

The Build and Release team is responsible for automating the building and delivery of Postman web and desktop applications. We also manage CI/CD pipelines, the distribution of artifacts/packages and related services. 

About You

• 10+ years in software engineering
• 6+ years in a management role, preferably within DevOps, Productivity, or Build and Release teams
• Deep understanding of CI/CD, build automation and developer tooling.
• Familiarity with modern web practices and the associated technologies(JavaScript, TypeScript, React, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional projects with meaningful impact.
• Experience with influencing strategy, setting priorities and executing a roadmap.
• You communicate clearly and listen effectively. You seek new perspectives and build trust with your team and colleagues.
• You take ownership of problems, not solutions. 
• You’re comfortable with big-picture strategic thinking but not scared to dig into details.
