The Opportunity

"Join our Platform Reliability Engineering (PRE) team to support a cutting-edge AWS-hosted solution, ensuring 99.9% uptime and exceptional user experience. What You'll Contribute

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud solutions on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Platform Support: Implement and maintain robust infrastructures using ArgoCD for GitOps and Crossplane/Terraform following established architectural designs and best practices.

  • Deployment Execution: Execute and troubleshoot deployment strategies using ArgoCD for automated application delivery, ensuring smooth releases and rapid incident resolution.

  • Infrastructure Operations: Operate and maintain cloud resources using Crossplane/Terraform, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and resolving configuration issues independently.

  • Cross-team Collaboration: Partner with development, infrastructure, operations, and security teams to support infrastructure as code practices and resolve integration challenges.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Share expertise and provide technical guidance to team members on GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure troubleshooting techniques.

  • Process Enhancement: Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes and infrastructure operations, recommending optimizations based on operational experience.

  • GitHub Operations: Support and maintain GitOps workflows by following established branching strategies, pull requests, and code review processes while troubleshooting workflow issues and ensuring adherence to team standards.

  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Operate and maintain observability solutions to ensure platform performance, quickly diagnose issues, and implement remediation strategies.

  • Execute infrastructure as code (IaC) deployments using tools like Terraform or Crossplane, troubleshooting deployment issues and maintaining existing configurations.

  • Kubernetes Operations: Support and operationally maintain large Kubernetes clusters, handling day-to-day operations, scaling, and incident response with minimal escalation.

  • Security: Experience with security tools like Wiz / OPA / Kyverno along with in-depth knowledge of security principles and frameworks.

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to continuously develop expertise in cloud technologies and operational best practices and the creation of incident runbooks.

  • Apply established cloud architecture and design principles to solve complex operational challenges and support platform reliability.

  • Communicate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders regarding incident status, operational metrics, and platform health.

  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and operational tools to enhance platform support capabilities and operational efficiency.

  • Drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements and proactive automation solutions that reduce incidents, minimize manual intervention, and enhance platform stability.

What We’re Seeking

  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer or similar role with strong operational experience in a cloud-native environment, including extensive hands-on AWS experience

  • Hands-on experience with ArgoCD w/Akuity and Crossplane in operational and support capacities.

  • Experience with Istio service mesh for traffic management, security policies, rate limiting, and observability in microservices environments.

  • Proven operational knowledge of Pulsar (StreamNative) for monitoring and troubleshooting streaming and event messaging workflows (e.g., topic congestion, consumer lag, event processing delays).

  • GitHub Proficiency: Strong understanding of Git and GitHub workflows, including branching strategies and pull request management for operational tasks.

  • Infrastructure as Code: Working experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform and Crossplane) for deployment and troubleshooting.

  • Advanced proficiency in C++, Python, or Shell scripting with proven experience building complex automation frameworks, performance optimization tools, and sophisticated debugging solutions in production environments.

  • Advanced Kubernetes (AKS) operational expertise (pod management, HPA/VPA scaling, resource optimization) and strong networking proficiency including VPC architecture design, DNS strategy implementation, load balancing optimization, and network troubleshooting across distributed systems.

  • Strong working knowledge in network concepts and implementation on AWS (VPC, WAF, CloudWAN, etc.) for troubleshooting and operational support.

  • Hands-on experience with observability, monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Splunk, Cribl) for platform monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with workflow and issue management tools such as JIRA/ ServiceNow.

  • Team collaboration experience with the ability to work effectively within established team structures and provide technical guidance to peers.

  • Nice-to-Have:

    • Experience supporting cell-based architecture designs in Kubernetes environments.

    • AWS certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator).

    • Kubernetes certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator).

    • Experience with AIOps or Agentic AI tools and auto-runbooks for predictive reliability, automated incident response, and streamline operational workflows
