Staff Software Engineer, YouTube OTT Scaled Content Management

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in one or more of the following: data Acquisition, web applications, user experience, enterprise applications, data processing, Boq, navigating ambiguity, knowledge graph, C++.
• Experience in OTT/Media.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy and execution for a team focused on bringing the world's premium movies, shows, news, and sports to YouTube. Be accountable for the quantity and quality of this content.
• Influence the technical strategy and principles of the OTT organization. Set technical direction, oversee all technical designs and steer towards team direction.
• Build content management infrastructure for storing, reconciling and publishing content. Build media company facing tools in YouTube Studio and YouTube Analytics.
• Work on external APIs and industry-integrated solutions with third-party along with data quality analysis metrics and pipelines.
• Ensure YouTube and Google best-practices for execution, including monitoring and testing. Work on reliability infrastructure including staging and testing environments.
