JOB POSITION

• Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer.

• This position converts business needs into trusted, high-impact dashboards and reports by sourcing and validating data, building clear interactive visualizations, optimizing performance, and publishing secure, reliable content on Tableau Server/Cloud with ongoing support and improvements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Designs, builds, and maintains Tableau dashboards and reports that turn complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Partners with stakeholders to gather requirements, model and prepare data, create intuitive visualizations, and ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability through testing, optimization, and governance.
• Associate will design, build, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Associate will leverage Tableau (Server/Cloud), SQL, and enterprise data sources to deliver performance, secure, and scalable BI solutions, partnering closely with business and data teams to ensure accuracy and adoption.

QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE

• 6 + years in to Tableau & Data visualization tools developer.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud (publishing, permissions, schedules, extracts).
• Experience with visualization standards, KPI scorecards, and self-service enablement (training/guides).
• Working experience in Agile/Scrum and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Proven experience developing Tableau dashboards and reports using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud with strong SQL skills.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Solid understanding of Tableau performance tuning (efficient calculations, extracts vs live, reducing load times, best practices)
• End-to-end knowledge of BI/reporting lifecycle: requirements → data validation → dashboard build → UAT → deployment → support
• Monitor day-to-day dashboard refreshes user issues; troubleshoot and resolve incidents/escalations quickly
• Familiarity with BI governance and security (permissions, row-level security, certified data sources) and documentation standards.
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot data/reporting issues and work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to understand complex data models, KPIs, and business workflows; document definitions and dashboard logic
• Advanced Tableau skills (LOD, parameters/actions, Tableau Prep) and strong performance tuning.
• Tableau Server/Cloud admin exposure (publishing, permissions, schedules, extract refreshes, governance).
• Experience with other BI tools (Power BI, Looker/Qlik).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift/Databricks) and semantic layers (dbt/LookML).
• Automation basics using Python or Tableau REST API/tabcmd; Tableau certifications are a plus.
