About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full product lifecycle from feature concept to launch. Use judgment to adjust program priorities effectively while navigating changing circumstances. Understand and manage expectations of cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Own feature request intake and development process, including engineering sprints framework. Own second-level bug triage and prioritization process, helping developers focus on the most critical issues.
  • Drive software release schedules with well-defined milestones and integration with technical dependencies.
  • Assess the quality of releases through monitoring of incoming bugs and code changes to identify quality issues and trends.
  • Provide clear communication across cross-functional teams to drive transparency and end-to-end coordination of deliverables. Work closely with external and internal partners to manage and deliver shared objectives.
