The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cloud DevOps Manager with deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, Landing Zone architecture, and enterprise‑scale cloud governance. This leadership role is accountable for the end‑to‑end solution design, strategic planning, and successful delivery of Azure cloud platforms aligned with the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). Candidate is expected to provide technical similar guidance on all leading hyperscale’s including AWS,GCP as well and design truly muti-cloud architecture.

As a manager, you will lead and mentor a team of cloud and DevOps engineers, ensuring the implementation of secure, scalable, and standardized infrastructure using IaC and automation best practices. You will oversee platform architecture decisions, establish operational guardrails, and ensure alignment with enterprise security and compliance standards.

This role also serves as the primary escalation point for major incidents, driving root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver high‑availability services, ensure operational excellence, and support digital transformation initiatives across the organization.

Your key responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Provide strategic direction for Azure, AWS, GCP cloud adoption, modernization, and platform engineering initiatives.
    • Define the roadmap for Landing Zones, governance, security controls, automation, and DevOps capabilities.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Azure cloud and DevOps engineers.
  • Architecture & Solution Ownership
    • Own the end‑to‑end solutioning of Azure cloud platforms—including Landing Zone architecture, identity, networking, security, and automation.
    • Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to Azure CAF , organizational security standards, and compliance requirements.
    • Approve design decisions, architecture patterns, and IaC frameworks (ARM, Bicep, Terraform, CFT).
  • Delivery & Execution
    • Oversee cloud infrastructure build-out, deployment pipelines, workload onboarding, and environment standardization.
    • Ensure delivery teams follow cloud governance, tagging standards, policy enforcement, backup/DR, and security hardening.
    • Drive consistency across environments through DevOps processes, GitOps workflows, and automation frameworks.
  • Operations & Incident Management
    • Act as the highest level of technical escalation for cloud platform issues.
    • Lead root cause analysis (RCA), implement long-term fixes, and drive operational maturity.
    • Ensure high platform reliability, availability, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
    • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, product engineering, and architecture teams to enable seamless cloud adoption.
    • Communicate cloud strategy, risks, progress, and issues to leadership and cross-functional teams.
    • Champion a culture of automation, innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
  • Documentation & Governance
    • Oversee the creation and maintenance of architectural documents, operational runbooks, SOPs, and platform standards.
    • Define governance frameworks for cloud usage, security baselines, RBAC, cost controls, and policy-as-code.

  • Cloud Architecture & Platform Engineering
    • Deep understanding of Azure cloud architecture including networking, identity, subscriptions, Landing Zones, and enterprise governance structures.
    • Strong conceptual and review-level expertise in IaC frameworks (Terraform, ARM/Bicep), with ability to guide teams on architecture patterns and best practices.
    • Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native platforms for overseeing platform modernization and application hosting strategies.
  • DevOps Strategy & Automation Oversight
    • Experience defining enterprise CI/CD standards across GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and automated deployment workflows.
    • Ability to evaluate and adopt automation tooling, scripting strategies, and platform engineering innovations across teams.
  • Security, Compliance & Reliability
    • Solid understanding of cloud security controls, IAM, Zero Trust principles, encryption standards, and compliance frameworks.
    • Experience establishing operational guardrails including RBAC, Policy-as-Code, monitoring, cost governance, and high‑availability architectures.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Expertise in managing cloud operations, driving RCA, incident readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Familiarity with ITSM principles and governance using platforms like ServiceNow for incident, change, and problem management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, present architectural decisions, and engage with engineering, product, and leadership teams.
    • Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable cloud and DevOps solutions.
  • Documentation & Standards
    • Oversight of documentation for architecture blueprints, operational playbooks, runbooks, security controls, and compliance procedures.
    • Skilled at establishing repeatable processes, engineering standards, and best practice guidelines.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Experience
    • 10+ years of experience in cloud platforms, DevOps engineering, infrastructure automation, and operations leadership.
    • Demonstrated experience managing Azure cloud environments at enterprise scale, including governance, Landing Zones, and platform modernization.
    • Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams responsible for Kubernetes, Terraform/IaC, CI/CD automation, and cloud operations.
    • Experience managing 24×7 operational support , escalations, incident handling, and ensuring high availability and reliability of systems.
  • Technical & Managerial Expertise
    • Strong architectural understanding of Azure services (VMs, networking, storage, AKS, AAD) at a solution‑design and governance level.
    • Expertise in reviewing and approving IaC templates (Terraform, ARM/Bicep) and cloud-native platform engineering designs.
    • Ability to define DevOps practices, automation frameworks, and continuous delivery standards across the organization.
  • Certifications (Preferred)
    • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ‑305).
    • Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ‑400).
    • Additional certifications in cloud governance, security, or Kubernetes are a plus.
