Job Description

Toxicologist

 

As a Toxicologist your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

  • Performing exposure and toxicity assessments (risk assessments) for chemicals and quantitatively evaluating human health risks. 

  • Familiarity with international (e.g., USA, EU) standards and regulations of 

    • Medical devices

    • Proposition 65 risk assessments 

  • Conducting safety assessments of products and raw materials.

  • Critically reviewing and analyzing scientific studies, rating their reliability and selecting key and supporting studies in a weight of evidence approach.

  • Execution of technical work and client deliverables

Candidates should hold an advanced degree in toxicology, pharmacology, biology, chemistry, environmental health, or similar field.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • University degree (equivalent to a Master’s degree) in Toxicology or related science, PHD preferred. 

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in human health risk assessment and toxicology

  • Experience working in risk assessment project teams

  • Demonstrated proficiency in general toxicology, hazard identification, dose-response assessment, exposure assessment, and risk characterization

  • Possess strong organizational and analytical capabilities

  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to make sound, scientific decisions in challenging environments

  • A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Preference for experience working within a company on developing safer/more environmentally friendly products or working experience with a testing laboratory in this area.

  • Experience related to the green marketplace.

  • Knowledge of hazardous chemical lists and global regulations affecting substances

  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Knowledge of internation regulations and standards of cosmetics and consumer products

  • Diplomat Americal Board of Toxicology (DABT) or European Registered Toxicologist (ERT)
