Job Description:

We are looking for a senior engineer for this who is self-motivated and driven to work with multiple stakeholders being responsible for: 

Technical Responsibilities

• Analyze in-service flight operations data extracted from Digital Flight Data Recorders 

• Decode binary flight data, validate the information and integrate into the database

• Flight data analysis using in-house tools based on C#, Java, Python etc

• Develop algorithms to sample, extract, transform and analyze data starting from single flight to millions of flights using various big data tools/technologies

• Perform statistical analysis and consolidate the results with the help of experts and specialists

• Create analysis/safety reports for the customers with findings and recommendations

• Build tools/scripts to automate and increase the efficiency of the legacy processes

• Use of AI/ML techniques for the development, testing & deployment of applications to answer business needs

• Providing project updates on a consistent basis to the various stakeholders involved in the team

• Compliance to maintain data confidentiality/data governance requirements

Leadership Responsibilities

• Drive the ZeroAOG India Site ensuring proper integration and stakeholder management across multiple ZAOG sites-Getafe/Toulouse/Hamburg/Filton

• Be visionary to explore, chart out the value creations and contribute to the responsibilities of the plateau

• Be self-driven to drive groups across various departments for the mission

• Be process driven as the person is expected to act as a process operational manager-representative for the SU.CP .05 process from India

• Consolidate the Z-AOG activities performed by different groups in AIE

• Take accountability of all deliverables from India to Z-AOG plateau

• Lead the development & maturation of the XTS tool with long term goal of industrialisation

• Act as an interface between Z-AOG plateau and AIE leadership for operations and business development in India

• Pick topics from plateau and drive them end to end through local collaboration by leveraging advantages of colocation, thus, delivering quicker & more agile solutions

• Create awareness about Z-AOG plateau activities in AIE

Required Education

• B.Tech / M. Tech. / M. E. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical,Aerospace or Electronics engineering 

Required Skills and Expertise

• Aviation domain experience (Flight Operations, Flight Physics/Mechanics, Systems, Maintenance)

• Knowledge of aircraft systems and statistics

• Knowledge and experience in Data Analytics & related tools (Python, Pyspark, R, SQL etc.)

• Knowledge and experience in Predictive Data Analytics & related tools (added advantage)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to think critically, analyze data, make decisions and solve complex problems

• Ability to convey complex analyses with the most efficient and intuitive visual methods

• Ability to effectively communicate findings

• Flexibility and adaptability

• Minimum relevant experience of 6 years

Nice to Have

• Basic to advanced awareness of aircraft operations

• Knowledge of ARINC429 and ARINC717 protocol

• Past experience in flight data recorders and aircraft data decoding

• Knowledge of Flight Data Monitoring and Safety Management System in aviation

• Proficiency in quickly grasping the technical details of different aircraft systems and associating the technology to solve relevant problem statements. 

• Good communicator so as to represent Airbus India as part of the project

• Self-motivated individual interested in working on data science concepts for aviation industry

• Strong team player motivated to collaborate and find synergies

• Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to solve problems creatively

• Experience in the Aerospace industry and Aircraft Systems knowledge

• Awareness of the Skywise platform
