Inventory Planning & Procurement Manager – Socks Manufacturing

The Inventory Planning & Procurement Manager will be responsible for planning, controlling, and procuring raw materials required for socks manufacturing operations. The role focuses on ensuring uninterrupted production by maintaining optimum inventory levels, calculating accurate reorder quantities based on sales / production order and production plans, coordinating timely material receipt, maintaining real-time inventory records, dealing and dealing and negotiating with suppliers for better rates and timely supply andd managing supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

• Plan raw material requirements for socks manufacturing based on sales/production orders and production schedules

• Calculate reorder levels and reorder quantities for yarns, elastics, labels, polybags, cartons, and other consumables

• Ensure timely availability of materials for timely production

• Maintain real-time inventory records of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished socks

• Monitor yarn consumption production order wise to prevent shortages or excess stock

• Coordinate with production team for material issue, batch planning, and manufacturing entries

• Record manufacturing consumption, wastage, and stock movement accurately

• Follow up with yarn dyeing units and suppliers for timely dispatch and delivery

• Negotiate rates, lead times, and payment terms with vendors

• Identify alternate suppliers for critical socks raw materials to avoid production risk

• Share inventory status, upcoming reorders, and material risks with management regularly

    -   Coordinating socks sample development and maintaining detailed records of yarn type, shade 

         number, and construction for future Production Orders.

• Support cost optimization by reducing excess inventory and improving purchase efficiency

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience in textile / socks / hosiery manufacturing preferred

• Strong understanding of yarn types, elastics, consumables, and socks production flow

• Practical knowledge of inventory planning and procurement in a factory environment

• Good negotiation and coordination skills with suppliers and job-workers

• Comfortable with Excel, Google Sheets, or ERP-based inventory systems
