Debt Recovery Officer

Position Overview : A Debt Recovery Officer is responsible for contacting customers with overdue accounts, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining positive customer relationships. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

• Key Responsibilities : Monitor and track overdue accounts to identify delinquent customers.
• Contact debtors via phone, email, letters, or in person to recover outstanding amounts.
• Negotiate repayment plans or settlement agreements that align with company policies.
• Maintain detailed records of all communications and repayment arrangements.
• Investigate and resolve disputes or queries related to outstanding balances.
• Liaise with internal departments (e.g., legal, customer service, finance) for escalated cases.
• Recommend accounts for legal action or write-off when necessary.
• Prepare weekly/monthly debt recovery reports for management review.
• Ensure collection activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining firmness and professionalism.
