Core duties and responsibilities

• Counseling and support: Work with individuals, couples, or families to address issues like stress, depression, substance abuse, and relationship problems. 
• Assessment: Evaluate a client's mental well-being through interviews and observation to understand their challenges. 
• Treatment planning: Develop and implement treatment strategies and coping techniques tailored to the client's needs. 
• Referrals: Refer clients to other specialists or treatment facilities when appropriate. 
• Crisis intervention: Provide support and intervention during crises, such as those involving mental health or safety concerns. 
• Record keeping: Maintain confidential client records, including session notes and progress reports. 
• Collaboration: Work with other healthcare providers, school officials, or support networks to ensure comprehensive client care.
