Job Description
ob Title: Accounts ManagerDepartment: Finance & Accounts
Reports To: Owner / Managing Director / Finance Head
Role PurposeThe Accounts Manager is responsible for managing the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, controlling expenses, and supporting management in financial decision-making.
- Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & BookkeepingMaintain accurate books of accounts (Sales, Purchase, Cash, Bank, Journal)
- Record daily financial transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and cash books
- Manage petty cash
- 2. Financial ManagementPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Monitor income, expenses, and profitability
- Assist in budgeting and cost control
- Manage working capital and cash flow
- 3. Taxation & CompliancePrepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.)
- Handle TDS calculations and returns
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax and statutory laws
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and authorities
- 4. Billing & ReceivablesPrepare sales invoices and credit notes
- Monitor customer payments and outstanding dues
- Follow up for timely collections
- Maintain customer ledger accounts
- 5. Payables & Vendor ManagementVerify supplier bills and expenses
- Schedule and process payments
- Maintain vendor accounts and reconciliations
- Control purchase-related expenses
- 6. Payroll & HR SupportPrepare monthly salary statements
- Manage PF, ESI, and other statutory deductions (if applicable)
- Maintain employee records related to payroll
- 7. Reporting & MISPrepare MIS reports for management
- Provide financial insights for business decisions
- Support internal and external audits
- 8. System & Record ManagementMaintain accounting software (Tally/Busy/ERP)
- Ensure proper documentation and filing
- Maintain digital and physical financial records
- Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Tally / Busy / Excel / ERP systems
- Understanding of GST, TDS, and Income Tax
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Integrity and confidentiality
- QualificationsB.Com / M.Com / CA-Inter / MBA (Finance) preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in accounts and finance
- Experience in retail / trading / distribution preferred
