Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation & Cooking:Prepare and cook Indian dishes, including curries, gravies, biryanis, and side dishes.
  • Specialize in tandoor cooking, including marination, grilling, and baking in a clay oven (tandoor).
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
  • Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to maintain food cost control.
  • Innovate and introduce new recipes based on customer preferences.
  • Tandoor Operations:Handle and maintain the tandoor oven efficiently.
  • Prepare and cook tandoori breads (naan, roti, kulcha), kebabs, and tandoori starters.
  • Monitor the cooking process to ensure proper doneness and texture.
  • Kitchen Hygiene & Safety:Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, workstations, and tandoor oven.
  • Follow food safety regulations and HACCP guidelines.
  • Ensure proper storage of ingredients and cooked items to prevent contamination.
  • Inventory & Stock Management:Assist in inventory control by monitoring ingredient usage and stock levels.
  • Ensure fresh ingredients are used while minimizing wastage.
  • Coordinate with the purchase team for timely procurement of kitchen supplies.
  • Team Coordination & Training:Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train junior chefs and kitchen staff on Indian & tandoor cooking techniques.
  • Maintain discipline and follow kitchen hierarchy.
  • Customer Interaction (if required):Participate in live cooking stations as part of the buffet experience.
  • Address customer queries regarding food preparation and ingredients.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications:Experience: 2+ years in Indian and tandoor cooking (preferably in a multi-cuisine or buffet-style restaurant).
  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management/Culinary Arts (preferred).
  • Technical Skills:Proficiency in Indian and tandoor cuisine.
  • Knowledge of marination, spice blending, and traditional cooking techniques.
  • Ability to handle tandoor and grill operations.
  • Soft Skills:Strong teamwork and communication.
  • Time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Passion for food and innovation.
  • Work Environment & Schedule:Work Hours: Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Workplace: Barbeque Nation restaurant kitchen.
  • Physical Demands: Requires standing for long hours and handling high heat conditions.
  • Salary:- For Commi 3 :- 10,000/- & Commi 2 :- 15,500/-
