Sr. Engineer - CV VMS - Steering and Front Axle

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Design and development of Steering (Electric/Hydraulic) and Front axle aggregates for small commercial platforms.
2. Deliver Steering and Front axle aggregates as per QCDW (Quality, cost, delivery, weight) for projects.
3. Resolve field / manufacturing concerns
4. DFMEA, Design review, DVP generation, analysis using G8D technique
5. Vehicle level and component level DVP requirements
6. Interact with CAE, CDMM, validation for aggregate development
7. Interact with suppliers for proprietary part design and development
8. Root cause analysis and concern resolution.
9. Aware of Homologation and regulatory requirements.
10. Build technology roadmap on the above aggregates and execute potential ideas

Experience

6-8 years’ experience in Automotive with SIL/MIL/HIL is preferable.

Industry Preferred

Qualifications

B.E / B. Tech Mechanical / Automotive; MS/MTech is added advantage

General Requirements

1. Ability to design complete Steering (Electric/Hydraulic) and Rigid Front axle aggregates for small commercial platforms.

2. Good domain knowledge on design of different types of steering and front axle system like EPS/HPS, Rigid front axle.

3. Good knowledge on part and system level calculations.

4. Good knowledge on part and vehicle level DVP requirements.

5. Good knowledge on system level calculations.

6. Knowledge on Failure analysis and problem solving.

7. Knowledge on Sheet metal, castings & forgings design & manufacturing process.

8. Knowledge on DFM,DFA,DFS

9. Knowledge on SAM (Serviceability, Accessibility & Maintenance)

10. Sheet metal, castings & forging part design & manufacturing process knowledge.

11. Knowledge on Metallurgy.

12. Result orientation with execution excellence.

13. CAD knowledge (Catia & Team centre PLM)

14. Conflict resolution and Problem-solving skills and Decision Making.
