Cafeteria Manager Responsibilities & Duties Oversee daily operations of the cafeteria

• Supervise and train cafeteria staff
• Plan menus in collaboration with chefs and nutritionists
• Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
• Monitor food quality and presentation
• Handle customer complaints and feedback
• Coordinate catering events or special meal services
• Maintain financial records and manage budgets
• Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality
• Create staff schedules and manage shift coverage
• Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates and policies
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and in working order
• Regularly review and update operational procedures
• Cafeteria Manager Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field
• Certified in food safety and sanitation
• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
• Familiarity with cafeteria management software
• Ability to work well under pressure
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service or hospitality
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer skills including MS Office
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
