Software Tester

Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester who has good knowledge of JIRA and can effectively test portals/applications developed by the IT team. The tester will be responsible for identifying bugs, errors, and usability issues, and coordinating with developers to ensure timely resolution. Key Responsibilities: - Test company-developed portals, web applications, and internal systems. - Identify, log, and track bugs, errors, and functional issues using JIRA. - Create and manage test cases, test scenarios, and test reports. - Perform manual testing (UI, functionality, regression, basic performance checks). - Verify fixes and ensure issues are properly resolved before closure. - Coordinate with the development team to explain issues clearly and provide reproduction steps. - Ensure portals are userfriendly and meet business requirements. - Maintain proper documentation of testing activities. Required Skills & Knowledge: - Good working knowledge of JIRA (bug tracking & reporting). - Understanding of software testing concepts and SDLC. - Ability to identify UI/UX issues, functional gaps, and logical errors. - Basic understanding of web portals, dashboards, and workflows. - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. - Good communication skills to coordinate with IT/development teams. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in testing IT company portals or web-based applications. - Knowledge of test case writing and execution. - Familiarity with basic SQL or API testing (optional). - Prior experience as a Manual Tester / QA Tester is a plus. Experience Level: - 1–3 years (can be flexible based on skillset)
