Sous Chef - Bakery

Role SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Bakery Sous Chef to assist in daily bakery operations, ensure consistent product quality, and support the Head Baker in production planning, team supervision, and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Head Baker in daily bakery production (bread, viennoiserie, cakes, pastries)
• Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation
• Supervise junior bakers and helpers during shifts
• Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, creams, and icings
• Monitor baking schedules and production timelines
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
• Manage inventory, raw material usage, and minimize wastage
• Step in as in-charge in absence of Head Baker
• Support R&D and new product trials when required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Bakery & Pastry Arts or Hotel Management
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients
• Experience with commercial ovens and bakery equipment
• Ability to handle high-volume production
• Leadership and team-handling skills
• Good time management and problem-solving ability
• Willingness to work early mornings / rotational shifts
