Key Responsibilities For HOD

• Strategic Leadership: Provides direction to immigration staff for the overall management of the department.
• Policy Implementation: Coordinates and monitors the implementation of policy decisions relating to immigration services and national security.
• Advisory Role: Advises ministers or high-ranking authorities on policy formulation related to immigration and national security matters.
• Operational Management: Develops systems, procedures, and policies for efficient service delivery, including visa issuance and border control.
• Staff Management & Development: Oversees staff training, performance management, and career development.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Manages relationships with other government agencies, international stakeholders, and the public.
• Case Oversight: Oversees complex visa cases, investigations, and integrity checks, especially regarding immigration fraud or compliance. 

Key Responsibilities For Legal Advisor

• Case Management & Counseling: Conducting client consultations to assess eligibility for various visas, assessing risks, and providing tailored legal solutions.
• Documentation & Compliance: Drafting, reviewing, and filing visa applications, petitions, and supporting documents to ensure compliance with national immigration laws.
• Refusal/Appeal Handling: Managing appeals, handling refused visa cases, and representing clients in legal proceedings.
• Legal Research: Staying updated with changing immigration legislation, policies, and regulations to provide accurate advice.
• Advisory Role: Advising management on legal risks and ensuring organizational adherence to government regulations.
