Job Title: Duty Medical Officer (DMO)

Job Summary:

The Duty Medical Officer plays a vital role in ensuring seamless clinical operations during their shift. In a fertility hospital, the DMO will provide round-the-clock medical supervision, attend to patients undergoing fertility treatments, manage emergencies, and coordinate care with consultants and nurses.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

• Monitor and assess patients undergoing fertility treatments, IVF cycles, and related procedures.
• Provide initial medical assessment and stabilization for emergency cases.
• Assist consultants during procedures when required.
• Ensure pre-operative and post-operative care is being followed per protocol.
• Perform ward rounds and update medical records regularly.
• Provide support for procedures such as oocyte retrievals, embryo transfers, hysteroscopies, etc., as per the hospital's policy.

Patient Interaction:

• Address patient and family queries with empathy and clarity.
• Counsel patients regarding their current condition and treatment plan in the absence of the consultant.

Coordination & Documentation:

• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of patient records in EMR/physical files.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other departments (lab, radiology, pharmacy, etc.)
• Update consultants about any critical changes in patient status.

Emergency Management:

• Be the first responder in medical emergencies and initiate appropriate management.
• Ensure necessary resuscitation equipment and emergency drugs are checked and functional.

Compliance & Protocols:

• Follow infection control protocols and hospital SOPs strictly.
• Ensure consent forms are duly filled and signed before procedures.
• Report any incidents or near-misses to the quality department.

Qualifications & Experience:

• BHMS from a recognized university.
• Valid Medical Council registration.
• 0–3 years of clinical experience; prior exposure to fertility or gynecology/obstetrics is an added advantage.

• Basic understanding of fertility treatments and ART protocols (preferred).
• EMR and hospital management software proficiency.

Working Hours

• :Rotational shifts (morning, evening, night) including weekends and holidays as per roster.
