Job Title: Duty Medical Officer (DMO)

Job Summary:

The Duty Medical Officer is responsible for providing continuous medical care and support to patients during their shift. The DMO plays a vital role in monitoring patient conditions, handling emergencies, supporting inpatient rounds, and ensuring timely escalation to specialists when required.

AreaDetailsPatient CareMonitor and manage patients admitted to wards, ICU, or emergency rooms.Clinical SupportPerform clinical assessments, administer treatments, and manage acute care cases.Emergency HandlingRespond promptly to medical emergencies and stabilize patients.Rounds & DocumentationConduct rounds, update patient records, progress notes, and treatment charts.CoordinationCommunicate with consultants and escalate cases requiring specialist attention.Discharge ProcessAssist in discharge procedures and ensure documentation is complete.Medication ManagementPrescribe and administer drugs as per hospital protocols and consultant advice.Medical EquipmentEnsure medical devices used during the shift are functioning and report issues.Patient CommunicationCommunicate updates to patients and attend to their concerns professionally.ComplianceAdhere to hospital policies, medical ethics, and infection control protocols.

• Key Requirements:
• Education: MBBS from a recognized medical college; registration with Medical Council is mandatory.
• Experience: 0–3 years (freshers with internship experience may be considered).
• Certifications:
• BLS/ACLS certification is an added advantage.
• Skills:
• Clinical judgment and emergency response skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of hospital information systems
• Ability to work in rotational shifts including nights and weekends
